Revival Key: Seek His Face6/21/2012 2Chronicles 7:14 If My People, upon whom My name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. As a worship leader, there are many passages granting keys to more intimate personal worship. There are remarkably few that point us to what we will call revival worship. Our nation is in dire need of authentic culture shaping revival. To achieve this, we must be willing to do what God requires. Notice the first word is “if.” The healing and revitalization of our nation is not guaranteed. We have a choice. I am convinced we are not waiting on God; He is waiting on those that call themselves by His name to step out of pride. To pray and seek the face of one greater than one’s self requires quite a bit of humility. These are key to revival worship. A slow song is not a worship song simply because it is slow. An acoustic guitar played over a soothing string pad does not guarantee God’s presence. There must be a humble acknowledgement of His incomparable greatness and worth. We must acknowledge that He alone is God and worthy of our personal and corporate worship. Seeking God’s face takes time and focus. If the worship leader is more concerned with lights and compressors than sincerity and passion for revival, they are a hireling and a great distraction from the church’s purpose. If the ministry is only for the entertainment and pacification of the people, revival is not a foreseeable end. One cannot pursue evil, sin, and God. Holiness must be sought if we truly want a move of God. A packed building does not mean revival, but revival does pack buildings. Compromise will always short circuit revival. Nothing else satisfies a true revival hunger other than true revival. A watered down gospel may fill a stadium with people seeking fantasy but it will not give them the power to stand in the day of adversity. Paper umbrellas are always a bad idea. I am praying for brothers and sisters willing to sing, play, preach, and serve God with the ferocious humility that will allow God to lead us in the paths of righteousness. Our goals, visions, and ministries must serve the cause of revival. Please send me songs, videos, paintings, sketches, and other expressions based around the theme of regional, national and, or, global revival that you would like me to post or send me links to your works. The fire must start in hearts and be spread to the next. Tag, it is your turn to pass the fire along.

LaShund, You preach that, Bro! Great word! Will there be a share link that we can forward messages to fellow brothers and sisters in the faith?

All the talent, skill, and stage presence in the world cannot take the place of the anointing. We have no shortage of people in the Body of Christ with ability. We do have a shortage of individuals who know the anointing and the price it takes to walk in and under it. Above all things, the Levites that were gifted and skilled in song and instruments of praise had to be ceremonially cleansed before they offered service in the tabernacle before God and to His people. The emphasis is on the conditions of purity and holiness never on talent and ability. A clean, sterilized, prepared vessel is fit to be filled with the wine of the Holy Spirit and offered to God's people. The gift and talent was given to them to be sacrificed in service to God and His people, not prostituted before the world for personal gain, exposure, and fame. You are so right. We need to be led into repentance from our sins. We must be delivered from personal desires. The institution of new programs, and systems, our social identification with the world and generation we are in have a place but it is not the ingredients of revival. A broken contrite spirit that is adore the depravity of sin and the nature of self will starving for identification with the Holy and Righteous God is a great place to start. The worship leaders that live for Jesus Christ and not for themselves understand. That to bring the fire they must stay in the fire. They live a lifestyle of holiness. They crucify their flesh. They know and obey the Word of God. They know and accept that their gifts and talents are given to them to glorify Jesus and His Church, not their lives. They know that the gifts they carry are gifts of helps, a servant to the sanctuary. They know and grasp the concept of a servant’s heart. As Jesus their Lord has said; "but the greatest among you, will be the servant to all". They know the way they think and live "behind the cameras and spotlight" is what will permeate out of them and into the precious sheep and lambs that they prepare for the entrance of God's Word. They abstain from all evil, sin, and the appearance of all evil because they are more concerned with pleasing the God of their salvation and not injuring His flock than they are for their own wellbeing. These are selfless individuals amongst peers that have gone wild for the world. They are the jewels on Jesus' crown, following their Messiah to a cross instead of leading the way of rebellion like the devil. Remember that the devils gifts, talents, and abilities were not his to exploit but to use for God's purposes; To cover and not expose; To build God’s kingdom not his own. If a praise and worship leader can't live according to the laws of life in Jesus Christ constrained by the love of God to live within the confines of the New Covenant, maybe secular life is really what they are called to? American Idol awaits you! Not to defile the holiest calling of God. Not to be in and to attempt to lead men into the fire! True Holy fire disintegrates flesh along with sin or it refines, purifies, and consumes those who expose themselves to it and choose to live in it! The fruit of the tree will be evident to trees in the fire! Revival starts in the hearts of men kind as they are led into the holiest by true Levites in the spirit!
